Member of the "Lebanese Forces" bloc, MP Ghada Ayoub, confirmed that "the bloc's specifications for the President of the Republic and his duties are clear and align with the final statement of the Doha meeting." In a conversation via "Lebanon Al-Hurr," she emphasized "the necessity for the Parliament to fulfill its role and to allow for dialogue within the sessions." She stated, "We informed the French envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian that we will not go to the negotiation table before electing a President of the Republic; thus, fearing for Lebanon's identity, concessions cannot be made." She noted that "there is no institution currently functioning that is not paralyzed except for the Lebanese Army." She pointed out that "the arrival of Army Commander General Joseph Aoun to the presidency poses a greater threat to MP Gebran Bassil than the arrival of former Minister Sleiman Frangieh," highlighting that "Bassil’s demand for Hezbollah to implement the decentralization already outlined in the Taif Agreement is illogical, especially since Hezbollah is obstructing the implementation of the Taif Agreement."
