Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the West is coming to understand that the "Ukraine project" is facing failure, yet it cannot stop its support, including from an economic perspective. The minister mentioned during a roundtable with ambassadors regarding the situation in Ukraine: "The United States is the main donor to Ukraine, followed by Germany, Britain, Denmark, Poland, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden. The significant amount of money invested in Ukraine emphasizes the importance of preventing the failure of the Ukraine project for the West."

According to the minister, the position of the U.S. military-industrial complex in Europe has been strengthened due to the conflict in Ukraine, as "over 60 percent of the weapons purchased by EU countries are American-made." Lavrov pointed out that the United States has formed an anti-Russian coalition of 54 countries, which supplies the Kyiv regime with the aim of delivering a strategic defeat to Russia.

He noted that Western countries have allocated over 200 billion dollars for military and financial support to Ukraine in less than two years. He compared this to the European Union, which allocated less than 80 billion dollars for social and economic support to developing countries in the Global South and East over seven years.

Lavrov emphasized that "Western countries ignore and try not to notice the proliferation of weapons from Ukraine to hot spots, where they are used by extremists and terrorists. Facts confirm the presence of mercenaries who claim to fight voluntarily alongside Ukraine against the Russian army. Recently, dozens of French mercenaries were killed by Russian shelling at their positions in Ukraine. Many experts and trainers are also operating in Ukraine, officially serving in the armed forces of Western countries. This cannot be hidden."

The minister addressed the incident of downing the plane carrying Ukrainian prisoners over the Belgorod region, stating that the Russian side is investigating the type of weapon used by Kyiv's forces for this action and the country that supplied it to Ukraine.

On another note, Sergey Lavrov stated that there should be an investigation into allegations that some employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) participated in the attack on Israel on October 7. Some countries, such as the United States, Germany, and Britain, have suspended their funding to the agency, which is a significant source of support for the residents of Gaza, following allegations from Israel. The agency announced last Friday that it has opened an investigation with several employees and terminated their contracts.
