Both Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and IRGC Commander Hossein Salami vowed revenge during the funeral of the victims of the bombings carried out by ISIS two days ago. In a televised speech, Raisi stated, "Our enemies see the power of Iran, and the whole world knows its strength and capabilities. Our forces will decide the appropriate place and time to respond." State television broadcast footage showing crowds of families in Kerman mourning their loved ones before coffins wrapped in the Iranian flag. Mourners chanted "Revenge, revenge; death to America, death to Israel." Tehran typically accuses Israel and the United States of supporting armed groups opposed to Iran that have carried out previous attacks. On Friday, Salami also pledged revenge during the funeral of the bombing victims. Approximately 100 people were killed in Kerman on Wednesday while commemorating IRGC Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, who was killed by a U.S. drone strike in Iraq in 2020. ISIS claimed on Thursday that two of its members detonated explosive belts amid the crowd gathered at the cemetery in the southeast city. Salami, speaking at the funeral ceremony, indicated towards ISIS, stating, "We will find you wherever you are."
