Launch of the "Tax System Reform" Conference in Iraq Tomorrow

Launch of the

Baghdad will host the launch of the Tax System Reform Conference tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9 AM, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, with the theme "Towards a Transparent and Fair Tax System." The main topics of the conference will include tax policies, legislation, governance and automation, and tax management and accountability.

The conference aims to "amend tax legislation that is not business-friendly, develop tax administration and the skills of its workers to improve tax performance, reform deficiencies in the tax work environment to serve economic development, achieve tax justice and alleviate the tax burden on taxpayers, facilitate tax procedures, adopt tax governance, and reconsider tax and customs policies in Iraq in light of a market economy."

Additionally, it intends to "enhance Iraq's position in international rankings in the field of tax work and promote tax culture among taxpayers by reflecting tax revenues through the provision of good services and creating investments that contribute to providing job opportunities that generate sustainable income."

During the conference, 12 winning papers specialized in various topics will be discussed, out of 40 papers submitted by governmental, academic, private sector, and international organization entities.
