English fans will not be able to watch their player Jude Bellingham in his first clasico in La Liga when Barcelona faces Real Madrid in the eleventh round of the tournament. Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet at the "Montjuïc" stadium next Saturday. According to Spanish newspaper "AS," England will not be able to see Bellingham in the clasico due to a law in effect since the 1960s, which will remain in force until 2029. This law prohibits television stations from broadcasting football matches from 2:45 PM to 5:15 PM local time to encourage the public to attend matches.
The report explained that this measure does not please everyone in England, as many fans want to watch the game, which will feature numerous stars, including Bellingham. Kevin Pearce, the managing director of La Liga in the UK and Ireland, said: "We are disappointed. British fans will not be able to watch the classic match, nor Bellingham's first appearance, because of the UK-imposed rule not to watch football on Saturdays after 2:45 PM." He added, "While we fully support initiatives to boost attendance at English matches, we believe that blackout should be limited to national television for football, not competitions abroad."
On the other hand, the "AS" newspaper, close to Real Madrid, confirmed Bellingham’s participation in the anticipated clasico despite doubts surrounding him after he felt pain in his thigh and left his team's match against Sporting Braga on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League. The newspaper added that Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, will rely on Bellingham against Barcelona, and there is no doubt about that.
