The Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan, emphasized that "the internal Lebanese situation can only be rectified by electing a President today before tomorrow." During his meeting with the "Lebanese Loyalty Party," led by Secretary General Ahmad Alawan, the Mufti mentioned the issue of Syrian refugees entering the country and the extremist movements accompanying them, which poses a concern for our nation and environment. He noted that what happened in Sidon and Ain al-Hilweh should prompt a unified stance among the Palestinian brothers, with their weapons focused solely on the Zionist enemy.
On the other hand, Alawan stated, "We presented today to the Dar Al-Fatwa, the institution that unifies all Lebanese, which serves as the umbrella under which all Lebanese find refuge. We must have a unified voice for the benefit of the Lebanese under this roof. We congratulated His Eminence on the extension of his term, and we also congratulate ourselves for that, as well as offering our congratulations on his recovery after the health issue he faced, and also for the anniversary of the Prophet's birth."
The Mufti also received a delegation from the Cultural and Social Forum of the Arab Tribes, which included sheikhs, notable figures, spiritual elites, cultural and media personalities, municipality heads, and village leaders from various regions. After the meeting, Talal Al-Daher spoke on behalf of the delegation, stating: "We were honored this morning to visit the Dar Al-Fatwa, the home of moderate and enlightened balance. We were pleased to extend our greetings to His Eminence and all Lebanese on the occasion of the Prophet's birth anniversary. Our visit aimed to congratulate His Eminence on his new term, asking God to aid him in his enormous responsibilities at all levels, especially in the religious and political domains within a country that seems to be on its last breath, and inspired by his wisdom to find solutions and continue efforts for the benefit of all concerned regarding the events in Khaldeh and other relevant issues for tribal members throughout the Arab world currently pending in the courts."
