Security Forces: Significant Decline in Major Crimes

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces has circulated a statistical table regarding some major crimes committed during the first seven months of 2023, indicating a noticeable decline compared to the same months of the previous year. A total of 7,435 individuals were detained during this period. The results are as follows:

Additionally, it is noteworthy that in July of the previous year, the crime rate saw a 36% decline compared to the same month of 2022.

The General Directorate emphasizes that despite the difficult conditions facing Lebanon, its personnel remain prepared to carry out their security duties to ensure the protection of Lebanese citizens, tourists, and residents across various areas of Lebanon. They encourage the public to uphold a spirit of responsibility by cooperating with them in reporting crimes they witness by calling the emergency number 112, and to adhere strictly to the applicable laws and respect them, as security is a shared responsibility.
