The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the ongoing follow-up by the Internal Security Forces to pursue and arrest wanted individuals, information was obtained by the Beirut Investigative Force regarding the presence of one such individual in the area of Corniche Pierre Gemayel - Sunday Market intersection.
Immediately, orders were given to the patrols of the force to locate and arrest him. As a result of extensive investigations and inquiries, one of the patrols was able to identify him, a man named A. B. (born in 1995, Lebanese), who is wanted for drug trafficking and use, as well as for trafficking counterfeit currency.
On April 29, 2024, after careful surveillance, one of the mentioned force's patrols arrested him in a well-prepared ambush in the aforementioned area while he was riding a gray "Sweit" motorcycle. The necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was transferred to the relevant department for further investigation, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary."
