Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. George Kallas, met with the Youth Forum for Youth Policies, in the presence of the head of the Youth Department at the Ministry, Joseph Saadallah, presenting his five-year strategy (2024 – 2028) and discussing ways to cooperate in implementing the national youth policy provisions. Kamal Shia, President of the Masar Association and Secretary of the Youth Forum, emphasized the importance of collaboration to implement several provisions of the youth policy, highlighting the forum's readiness to work with various stakeholders to apply this policy and achieve the best interests of Lebanese youth. Saadallah confirmed the necessity of taking responsibility to activate the role of youth in society across all fields, noting that this represents a participatory process involving ministries, public institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations. After observing a moment of silence "for the souls of the martyrs of Lebanon and Gaza," Minister Kallas delivered a speech praising the role of the Youth Forum in prioritizing youth issues. He affirmed that he "looks forward, responsibly, to the contents of the five-year strategy regarding enhancing governance opportunities and encouraging dialogue with officials," evaluating the strategy's foundations including vision, message, and values. He stated that "it is the duty of the Ministers of Labor, Education and Higher Education, Youth and Sports, and Tourism to include provisions drawn from this strategy in the ministerial statement of any government." Attendees agreed to continue discussions, work collaboratively, and network to ensure the implementation of youth policy in Lebanon.
