The agency stated that Ivanov is suspected of receiving a large bribe amounting to one million rubles. According to the criminal law of the Russian Federation under which he is charged, the official faces a penalty of up to 15 years in prison. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin was informed of Ivanov's arrest, and the Russian Defense Minister was also notified.
