Dr. Alaa Fawzi Al-Mardi, the daughter of the captain of the Sudanese team Al Hilal, was killed by a stray bullet amid the ongoing violent clashes in Sudan, despite a truce. The victim's father explained in a television interview that his daughter worked at the eighth neighborhood hospital. After returning from work, she was asked to prepare coffee, and while moving from the room to the living room, a stray bullet struck through one of the windows, hitting her mother in the right jaw. Alaa was fatally injured when the bullet pierced her heart, leading to her immediate death.
