The Kataeb political bureau stated that "the escalation of Israeli attacks targeting new areas, the latest being West Bekaa, necessitates a swift and urgent decision to put an end to all hostile actions in southern Lebanon, especially after the international community has united on the need for an immediate ceasefire, even if only for a limited time." The Kataeb Party called, "from a standpoint of concern for the lives and interests of innocent southerners and the country, to seize the opportunity to put an immediate end to this adventure that Hezbollah is undertaking against the will of the Lebanese, and its insistence on provoking hostilities by establishing military platforms within residential neighborhoods." It urged the deployment of the Lebanese army along the entire border and granting it the necessary authority and mandate to ensure stability and implement international resolutions.
The political bureau, during its meeting chaired by party leader MP Samy Gemayel, with the presence of the President and members of the Council of Bishops, emphasized that all initiatives and meetings aimed at reinforcing national constants, foremost among them state sovereignty, the exclusivity of arms, the enforcement of the rule of law, and adherence to the constitution, will receive the support of the Kataeb in its commitment to build the foundations of a strong, capable state and a liberated, prosperous country that safeguards its citizens." It called on all forces concerned for Lebanon, regardless of their sect, to join this approach and unify efforts to free decision-making and restore the state.
