Dubai welcomed 5.18 million international visitors during the first quarter of 2024, a growth of 11% compared to the same period in 2023, which saw 4.67 million visitors, according to the latest statistics from Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism. Dubai's exceptional performance has bolstered its global presence, as it began 2024 by being named the Best Global Destination in the 2024 Travelers' Choice Awards by TripAdvisor, making it the first city in the world to achieve this for three consecutive years. The increase in international visitors during the first quarter of this year results from the comprehensive strategies adopted by the emirate and implemented across several key pillars of the tourism sector, including sustainability, entrepreneurship, and innovation, along with a range of other critical factors. Dubai continues to commit to supporting sustainability in all its aspects by promoting relevant global and national targets, in conjunction with extending the Year of Sustainability initiative to include 2024. The tourism and hospitality sectors play an important role in this regard, by launching programs and initiatives that reflect the emirate's tourism ecosystem strategy.
