The Security Media Cell in Iraq announced today, Saturday, the seizure of an underground tunnel for "ISIS" in western Nineveh. The cell indicated in a statement that "based on precise intelligence information from the intelligence division of the 15th Brigade, in cooperation with the intelligence and forces of the 21st Brigade, a search and inspection in the Abbas Plain region west of Nineveh led to the discovery of an underground tunnel measuring 80 meters long and branching into two parts, each 40 meters long."
It added that "inside the tunnel, there are 3 rooms suitable for living and storing ammunition and weapons, containing 4 locally-made explosive devices in the shape of 20-liter cans filled with C4 explosive material, and 4 locally-made explosive devices in the shape of 5-liter cans filled with C4 explosive material along with a 30-meter detonating fuse, 3 BKC ammunition belts with 100 rounds each, 33 mortars of various calibers, 33 detonators, 204 propellant charges, 44 containers of 12.7 mm ammunition, electrical wires, electrical materials, and other materials."
It noted that "engineering task forces took responsibility for removing and destroying the materials on site."
