Dubai Culture Launches

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority announced today, Monday, the establishment of a series of events and activities aimed at enabling community members to enjoy the atmosphere of Ramadan in Dubai and highlighting its unique social traditions. The list includes the launch of the fifth edition of the humanitarian initiative "Ramadan Heroes" and the organization of "Ramadan Nights" at some of its cultural and heritage facilities. This is part of the authority's support for the "Ramadan in Dubai" campaign launched by the Dubai Media Council in partnership with several government and private entities, to spotlight the emirate's distinctive festive scene throughout the holy month.

"Dubai Culture," in collaboration with the Emirates Red Crescent and the "Talabat UAE" application, is organizing the fifth edition of the humanitarian initiative "Ramadan Heroes" to support humanitarian work. Through this initiative, which carries the slogan "Celebrating the Spirit of Giving," the authority aims to assist needy families and encourage community members to donate Iftar and Suhoor meals and Ramadan care packages by utilizing the "Ramadan Heroes Virtual Kitchen" on the "Talabat UAE" application.

On another note, "Dubai Culture" will celebrate "Ramadan Nights," hosted by the Union Museum on March 15 and 16, with the UAE's participation in the lunar space station development and construction project. This will be accompanied by a number of presentations and workshops in collaboration with the "Dubai Astronomy Group" and "Gulf Photo Plus," aimed at exploring the mysteries of space and planets through a mobile planetarium and telescope observation stations.

Visitors to the Shindagha Museum, the largest heritage museum in the UAE, from March 22 to 31, will have the opportunity to enjoy many Ramadan experiences inspired by local heritage. The "Traditional Crafts House" will host a "Mukhwar Design" workshop, where participants will learn about the features of the traditional mukhwar dress and its associated embroidery. In the "Safawewe Rug Weaving" workshop, they will learn weaving techniques using palm fronds. Meanwhile, visitors to the "Perfume House" will discover the secrets of making scented candles and designing incense burners using eco-friendly materials.

Through the "Batoobila" pathway, "Dubai Culture" will revive the rituals of the "Ramadan Drummer," giving families and children the chance to accompany "Batoobila" on a tour of the historic Shindagha neighborhood, chanting folk and heritage songs with him. Additionally, the authority will collaborate with the "EmpowerHer" initiative to organize a Ramadan market featuring a range of products created by talented individuals.
