Jordanian Foreign Ministry Announces Evacuation of 61 Jordanians from Gaza

The Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate at the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced today, Thursday, that efforts are underway to evacuate 61 Jordanian citizens to the Kingdom from the Gaza Strip. The Directorate clarified that these Jordanian citizens were allowed to leave through the Rafah crossing to Egypt by the border authorities.

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Sufyan al-Qudah, stated that "a team from the Jordanian embassy in Cairo, which has been present since the beginning of the evacuation operations from Gaza on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, is supervising the evacuation of Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza. This team is receiving the Jordanians being evacuated from Gaza, providing them with necessary assistance and medical care, and transporting them to Nuweiba port and Cairo via buses provided by the embassy, with the aim of bringing them back to the Kingdom as quickly as possible."

He confirmed that "the team continues to be present on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing to supervise the evacuation operations for Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza, and to provide them with all forms of assistance and support."
