Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with his Moroccan counterpart Aziz Akhannouch in Manama today, ahead of the 33rd session of the Arab League Council at the summit level. The meeting included Lebanese officials such as Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister Abdallah Bouhabib, Agriculture Minister Abbas Al-Hajj Hassan, Information Minister Ziad Al-Makary, and Education and Higher Education Minister Abbas Halabi. From the Moroccan side, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita attended.
During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed, emphasizing the importance of activating mechanisms for bilateral cooperation in various fields to serve the common interest of both countries and their brotherly peoples, in line with the bonds and relations of cooperation and solidarity that unite them.
The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to his Moroccan counterpart for facilitating visa issuance for Lebanese citizens and wished for the return of Moroccan airlines to Lebanon, as well as the revival of the coordination committee between the two countries, with plans for the Lebanese Foreign Minister to visit Morocco in preparation for the committee's convening at the level of the two prime ministers.
He stressed the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all areas. The Moroccan Prime Minister reaffirmed Morocco's commitment, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to develop and activate its relations with the Lebanese Republic, while reminding of Morocco's continued support for Lebanon's fundamental issues.
