The president of French club Paris Saint-Germain, Qatari Nasser Al-Khelaifi, stated that "the Saudi league does not pose a threat to the European football governing body, which boasts the best competitions, clubs, and players." In an interview with "La Gazzetta dello Sport" before PSG's match against Italian hosts AC Milan in the Champions League, Al-Khelaifi said, "The Saudi league does not threaten us; we focus on our standards. The European federation has the best competitions, clubs, and players, the richest history, and the largest fan base in the world, which are the ingredients for success."
When asked about the possibility of renewing Kylian Mbappe's contract, especially after Real Madrid announced in an official statement that they had not started negotiations with the player, Al-Khelaifi replied, "I haven't seen their statement. We all focus on ourselves only, and Mbappe continues to score goals. Therefore, I repeat, Kylian is the best in the world."
Regarding whether a revolution is occurring within Paris Saint-Germain, the Qatari commented, "It's more than just a revolution; it's an evolution towards reaching the top. We are always looking for improvement and growth, and the project is being built with a plan, not based on just two competitions."
Al-Khelaifi concluded, "We have a new long-term philosophy at the collective level, not on individuals. Today, I enjoy watching Paris, and I believe our fans feel the same."
