The Russian presidency stated today, Friday, that "Ukrainian forces have previously targeted Russia with American weapons, after Washington partially lifted restrictions to allow Ukraine to defend the Kharkiv area." Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "We know that, overall, American-made weapons are being used in attempts to launch attacks on Russian territory. This is clear evidence of the level of U.S. involvement in this conflict." U.S. President Joe Biden approved Ukraine's use of American munitions to strike targets inside Russia for a limited purpose, which is to defend Kharkiv. Following the disclosure of the U.S. decision, Berlin also permitted Ukraine to use German weapons to strike targets within Russia.
