The Fort Worth Fire Department in Texas reported that at least 21 people were injured on Monday following an explosion, which seems to have been caused by a gas leak at the Sandman Hotel in downtown. No fatalities were reported from the explosion, and authorities are investigating the cause of the incident. Video footage from the scene showed debris in a Fort Worth street between two buildings, with emergency responders at the site.
The fire department spokesperson stated that rescuers saved several people trapped in the hotel’s basement. One person is in critical condition, while four others are in serious but non-life-threatening condition, and the remaining injuries are minor. There were 26 rooms occupied in the hotel at the time of the explosion. It was noted that construction work was ongoing in the building, but it is unclear whether this played any role in the explosion.
