The Syrian embassy in Lebanon expressed its sorrow and condemnation of the crime committed against a Lebanese citizen and some reactions to it that led to reprehensible assaults. In a statement, it emphasized its commitment to the fraternal relationship between the two nations and reiterated Syria's position on the issue of displacement, stating that Syria has always supported the return of its citizens and is making every effort to facilitate this return, with the Lebanese government being aware of the matter.
The embassy stressed that what hinders the return of Syrians to their country is the politicization of the displacement issue by donor countries and some international organizations concerned with the displaced and refugees issue, as well as the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, which have negative effects on both Syrian and Lebanese citizens.
The embassy appreciated the cooperation of the Lebanese government and official entities, along with the national Lebanese stances that have called for rejecting incitement against Syrian citizens. It reaffirmed Syria's commitment to Lebanon's security and stability and its cooperation with the relevant agencies to hand over those wanted from both sides for the benefit of the two brotherly countries.
