Title: "The Fragmentation of Change MPs and a Unresolvable Dispute"

Title:

MP Adib Abdel-Masih pointed out that today's session for electing the president is expected to be similar to previous ones, except that MP Michel Moawad may receive one or two more votes from the "Change" MPs, who apparently do not agree on a specific candidate. He spoke about the fragmentation within this group and the diversity of opinions among its members, predicting that MP Mark Daou will join the supporters of Moawad, while his colleague, MP Najat Saliba, "is still positioned alongside MP Melhem Khalaf, who supports the candidacy of Dr. Issam Khalifa."

Abdel-Masih indicated that the so-called "Change MPs" may disband due to their contradictory positions and lack of agreement on clear common goals. In a discussion with "Anbaa" electronic news, he noted that "the 19 MPs reached an agreement in their meeting the day before yesterday to refrain from participating in legislative sessions, as there is no necessity for them amid the presidential vacuum. The priority must focus on electing a president first to avoid the sensitivity of this phase and prevent sharp disagreements among MPs. The task of the committee formed from the meeting is to consider all future steps."

Regarding the other side, Abdel-Masih highlighted "the ongoing unresolvable dispute between Hezbollah's candidates: Gebran Bassil and Sleiman Frangieh," affirming that Bassil's visits to Qatar and Paris "are futile and will lead to no result, as they will not change anything on the ground. The disagreement between Bassil and Frangieh is entrenched, and Hezbollah appears embarrassed and unable to arbitrate between them. It seems they may intentionally look the other way to propose a middle candidate, claiming to have done what was necessary but that both candidates did not respond to their wishes."
