Several Palestinians were killed, and others were injured early this Monday during an artillery shelling by the Israeli army on the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza. Palestinian medical sources reported that "at least 8 martyrs have risen, and dozens are injured due to the occupation's artillery targeting the hospital and its surroundings directly with shells and missiles, in addition to firing live ammunition at anyone moving outside the hospital entrance," according to the "Wafa" agency.
They added that "the occupation's artillery shelled the second floor of the hospital, causing significant damage to the place, and also injuring two doctors while they were working," noting that the number of martyrs is increasing, especially since the electricity is cut off, making it difficult to perform surgeries to save the wounded.
Additionally, they pointed out that "thousands of displaced people are inside the hospital, along with about 150 injured individuals, in addition to the medical staff and workers in the hospital, numbering no more than 100, who fear a massacre could be committed by the occupation within the hospital due to the tightening of the siege and continuous shelling."
According to eyewitnesses, the Israeli shelling caused a power outage in the hospital after its generators stopped working.
According to the "Wafa" agency, Israeli forces are surrounding the hospital with dozens of heavy military vehicles and artillery within less than one kilometer, in addition to the presence of snipers on the rooftops of buildings near the hospital, which prevents ambulance vehicles from reaching the hospital to transport the injured, as it is the only hospital partially operating in northern Gaza. It is noteworthy that the number of doctors killed has reached 201.
