The Minister of Economy and Trade in the caretaker government, Amin Salam, met with his Iraqi counterpart, Atheer Dawood Al-Ghareeri, in the capital of Bahrain, Manama, on the occasion of the meetings of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level in preparation for the 33rd Arab Summit in Bahrain. Al-Ghareeri emphasized to Salam the "importance of supporting all efforts and cooperation to achieve the goals that Iraq and Lebanon are striving for and to enhance economic integration," stressing the importance of holding a meeting for the Iraqi-Lebanese bilateral trade and economic committee in Baghdad. Salam expressed gratitude for Al-Ghareeri's prompt cooperation in determining a date for the committee meeting to be held in Baghdad. He also thanked him for "taking the initiative to prepare for a free exhibition for Lebanese exhibitors to market their products in the Iraqi market, as assistance from the Iraqi state to Lebanese products to support exports and open new markets for it."
