Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that "finding a just solution to the Palestinian issue has gained particular importance in light of the unprecedented escalation being witnessed in the Middle East." This was mentioned in a congratulatory message sent by Putin to participants at the 33rd Arab Summit held in Bahrain on Thursday. In his message, published on the Kremlin's website, Putin pointed out that "the Middle East is experiencing one of the most severe crises in history." He continued: "The unprecedented escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of civilians and has led to a sharp increase in tension in neighboring countries and the region as a whole." He said, "In light of these tragic events, reaching a just solution to the Palestinian issue based on internationally recognized principles has become particularly urgent."
Putin expressed Moscow's determination to "continue actively supporting the collective political and diplomatic efforts made by Arab partners to rapidly resolve existing contradictions," adding: "Our country consistently calls for a sustainable and long-term normalization of the situation in the Palestinian territories and in other conflict areas - Sudan, Yemen, Libya, Syria, and Lebanon - with a constant respect for the sovereignty of all these countries and adherence to international law."
Putin affirmed his belief that "continuing to expand traditional friendly relations and multifaceted constructive cooperation between Russia and Arab countries fully meets our common interests and aligns with ensuring security and stability at both regional and global levels."
