Incident Involving Egyptian Girl in Taxi

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed the circumstances surrounding an attempted kidnapping of a girl from a well-known transportation company's vehicle in the New Cairo area. The ministry stated that authorities monitored social media posts, which included a video of a girl jumping out of a car on the Suez Road in Cairo. It was added that the Al-Shorouk police station was informed by a hospital about a girl admitted with head injuries and altered consciousness, making her condition unsuitable for interrogation.

The Egyptian Interior Ministry reported that a witness stated that while driving on the Suez Road, he saw the girl jumping from the rear door of the vehicle she was in, stopping to assist her. She informed him that she was using a ride-hailing app, and when the driver attempted to harass her, she jumped from the car out of fear of being assaulted. She was subsequently taken to the hospital.

The ministry announced that the driver had been identified and apprehended, revealing that he resided in Giza. When confronted, he claimed that while he was closing the car windows and spraying air freshener, he was surprised to see the girl jump out of the vehicle, and he continued driving without stopping for fear of being harmed.

The girl's family stated that their daughter had requested the ride from the ride-hailing app at 6:50 PM, heading to the Madinaty area. During the trip, her mother tried to call her, but she could not hear her well due to the loud music from the car's cassette player, after which she ended the call. The family continued that a few minutes later, they called their daughter again to check on her, but a passerby answered and said the owner of the phone had jumped from a moving car and was injured with bleeding. She was taken to the hospital, and the prosecution was notified to investigate.
