The Deputy Head of the Russian Military Central Command in Syria, Yuri Popov, announced that Russian air forces attacked two militant bases in the Deir Ezzor province of Syria. Popov stated, "The Russian air forces attacked two specific bases of militants who emerged from the Tanf area and were hiding in hard-to-reach areas in the Al-Omour mountain range in Homs province and the Bishri region in Deir Ezzor." He pointed out that units of the Russian military police conducted patrols in the Raqqa and Hasakah provinces. Popov added, "The aviation of the so-called international coalition against terrorism, led by the United States, continues to create dangerous situations in the skies of Syria, flying in violation of engagement avoidance protocols."
