The captain of Al Nassr, Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, is nearing a historic achievement, as he could become the first player in football history to win the top scorer title in four different countries. Ronaldo currently leads the Saudi league scoring chart with 26 goals, followed by Serbian Aleksandar Mitrović of Al Hilal with 22 goals. With Mitrović confirmed to be sidelined for six weeks due to a hamstring injury, it seems almost certain that Ronaldo will claim the top scorer title in the Saudi league this season.
According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail," if Ronaldo manages to finish this season as the top scorer with nine rounds remaining, he will be the first player in history to win the top scorer award in four different countries (England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia). Ronaldo previously won the Premier League top scorer title in the 2007-2008 season when he scored 31 goals in 34 matches for Manchester United. He was also awarded the Spanish league top scorer title while playing for Real Madrid in 2011 with 40 goals, then in 2014 with 31 goals, and in 2015 with 48 goals.
During his time with Juventus, Ronaldo won the Italian league top scorer title in the 2020-2021 season with 31 goals. Ronaldo, along with Dutch Ruud van Nistelrooy, a former Real Madrid player, and Luis Suárez, a former Barcelona player and current Inter Miami player, are the only trio to have won the top scorer award in three different European leagues.
