Mosul Airport: Discussion on Final Designs for Air Navigation Systems

The Airports and Air Navigation Administration in Iraq discussed the final designs for air navigation systems at Mosul Airport today, Thursday. The Ministry of Transport stated in a press release that "the General Company for Airports and Air Navigation – Aviation Communication Department held an extensive meeting chaired by the department head, Ali Salah Mahdi, with a delegation that included a representative from the Nineveh Governorate, the Planning Director Azhar Taha Qasim, and the engineering teams responsible for the implementation works at Mosul International Airport."

The communication department head explained that "the meeting focused on discussing the final designs for air navigation systems and addressing the obstacles hindering the rehabilitation of the airport." He noted that "the main outcome of the meeting was coordinating with the Nineveh Governorate regarding certain technical observations to be registered and acted upon by the governorate, as it is the entity responsible for the implementation works at the airport."

He added that "the meeting was held based on the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razak Mohibis Al-Saadawi, and the Director General of Airport Administration, Abbas Al-Baydani, which emphasized giving utmost importance to airports, coinciding with the ministry's receipt of their management portfolio to enhance the level of services provided at them."
