Officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital announced that at least 100 Palestinians were killed and several homes were damaged today, Sunday, following an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza. They added that the death toll is expected to rise. The government media office stated, "More than 100 martyrs have risen and dozens have been injured in the massacre at the Al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza, where Israel bombed 4 inhabited houses belonging to the Muslim, Sissalem, Nawassara, and Abu Rahma families."
The statement demanded, "We call on all free countries worldwide to pressure the criminal occupation to stop the genocide being committed by the occupation army against our Palestinian people, including children, women, and civilians."
Ashraf al-Qadra, spokesperson for the Gaza Health Ministry, said that what is happening in the Al-Maghazi camp is "genocide" of a densely populated residential area. He added in a brief statement: "What is happening in the Al-Maghazi camp is genocide of a crowded residential area, with more than 70 martyrs so far, and the number is expected to rise due to the gathering of several families from different places and many being trapped under the rubble."
Al-Qadra confirmed that "the occupation directs the residents to places of their mass killings in areas it claims are safe." The spokesperson from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital indicated that "most of the martyrs who arrived from the Al-Maghazi and Al-Bureij camps are children, women, and the elderly."
