The Sharjah Institute for Heritage wrapped up the 21st edition of Sharjah Heritage Days after 11 days filled with events, activities, and heritage dialogue seminars, spread across six cities in the emirate, including Sharjah, Hamriyah, Dibba Al-Hisn, Khorfakkan, Kalba, and Al Dhaid. This year, Jeju Province (South Korea) was the guest of honor, with exceptional government, popular, and international participation, and notable attendance from guests and visitors.
The days witnessed, under the supervision of around 130 researchers, specialists, and supervisors, the organization of 362 activities, including 38 cultural stories, 25 dialogue sessions, and 107 open competitive contests featuring 272 artistic performances from 36 artistic groups, alongside organizing 9 exhibitions and approximately 21 specialized publications, as well as 5 new book signings and launches— all accomplished during 616,000 work hours, with more than 111,000 visitors and the presence of over 700 attendees from participating delegations.
This new edition enjoyed a distinguished partnership with several government and private entities. The number of participants reached 600 exhibitors from 12 countries, while the number of supporting government entities exceeded 30. Additionally, around 202 volunteers recorded an impressive total of 10,516 work hours, and the event garnered over 17,000 views on social media from local followers, as well as regional and international interest in the heritage arts.
