Delegations participating in the "Beirut Volunteer Award" have arrived in Beirut, scheduled for tomorrow morning, Tuesday the 16th of this month, along with the closing ceremony of the "Beirut, Capital of Arab Youth" events set for the same afternoon. The closing ceremony will be held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr. Najib Mikati, at the conference and training center of Middle East Airlines in Beirut, starting at 5 PM tomorrow. A large number of Lebanese and Arab personalities will attend, including the Executive Office President of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports Council, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, and representatives from the Arab League.
The "Beirut Volunteer Award" is the fifth and final activity in the series of events titled "Beirut, Capital of Arab Youth," which started on July 20 with the "Arab Forum for Economic Empowerment," followed by "Discover Lebanon," "Arab Youth Tourism Forum," and the "Arab Scouting Forum." Around 300 youth and scouts from 16 Arab countries participated in these activities. The jury for the Beirut Volunteer Award received 81 initiatives, which were filtered down to 30. After several meetings, the members scored the initiatives individually, resulting in the selection of 13 initiatives invited to participate in Beirut for live discussions and to choose the three winners.
