Bayer Leverkusen Draws 1-1 with Stuttgart

Bayer Leverkusen, the leader of the German Bundesliga, stumbled with a 1-1 draw against third-placed Stuttgart on Sunday, marking their second consecutive draw. However, they increased their lead at the top to four points. Under coach Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen remains the only team unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season, boosting their points total to 36, while second-placed Bayern Munich, who lost 5-1 against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, sits at 32 points with a game in hand. Stuttgart remains in third place with 31 points.

The home team faced a lot of pressure in the first half, and Leverkusen hit the crossbar through Amin Adli in the ninth minute before taking the lead in the 40th minute against the run of play with a goal from Chris Führich following a pass from Alejandro Grimaldo. The visitors equalized just two minutes into the second half when Granit Xhaka sent a pass to Viktor Bonyfas from the left, and then Florian Wirtz fired a shot that found the net.

Xhaka nearly scored a second goal but his low shot rebounded off the post in the 49th minute. Both teams had several chances as Leverkusen's Lucas Hradecky and Stuttgart's Alexander Nübel made several brilliant saves.
