The death toll from the devastating floods sweeping the city of Meizhou in Guangdong Province, southern China, has risen to 47, while authorities warn of continued heavy rainfall. Videos circulated online show torrents flowing through a suburb of Huangshan in Anhui Province, eastern China, where the floods last Thursday claimed at least 11 lives. Media reports state that "more than 179,000 people have been affected by the recent floods, which destroyed over 600 homes."
