The Mastermind of Drug Promotion Operations Captured by Security Forces

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Thursday, which included: "As part of the daily follow-up conducted by the Internal Security Forces to reduce drug trafficking and promotion in various Lebanese regions and to pursue and detain those involved, information was received by the Information Branch regarding drug trafficking and promotion operations carried out by unknown individuals in the area of Shabaa and surrounding regions.

In consequence, the specialized units of the branch intensified their field and investigative efforts to identify and apprehend the individuals involved in these operations. As a result of the inquiries and investigations conducted, the mastermind of drug trafficking and promotion operations in the Shabaa area was identified as: A. G. N. (born in 1991, Lebanese), who has a criminal record and multiple arrest warrants for drug trafficking and promotion crimes, and is considered a dangerous individual, being very cautious in his movements.

On 28-09-2023, after careful monitoring and surveillance, the special force of the Information Branch carried out a swift operation in the Souq Al-Khan area in Hasbaya, resulting in his arrest while he was riding a motorcycle that was seized. During the arrest, he attempted to flee from the forces, and one of his friends intervened in an attempt to help him escape, but they were also able to apprehend him; his name is: A. H. (born in 1999, Lebanese).

During the investigation, the first suspect admitted to drug trafficking and promotion to several clients in the Shabaa area and neighboring regions, while the second suspect acknowledged the accusations against him. Legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the competent authority based on judicial directives, with ongoing efforts to apprehend other involved individuals."
