The "Coffee World 2024" exhibition, one of the most anticipated events in the coffee industry, is set to host two national championships for professionals in the sector: the "UAE National Barista Championship" and the "National Latte Art Championship." The third edition of the exhibition, organized by "DXB Live," the integrated event management services arm at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is scheduled to take place from January 21 to 23, in collaboration with the global "Specialty Coffee Association."
The "UAE National Barista Championship" brings together the finest coffee-making professionals in the country to showcase their skills in front of thousands of experts, specialists, and enthusiasts. A team of international judges will evaluate contestants based on several criteria, including beverage quality, presentation, creativity, and technical proficiency. The championship aims to highlight the barista profession and promote excellence in the coffee industry by providing professionals with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and creativity in this field.
The holding of the "UAE National Barista Championship" serves as a precursor to the "World Barista Championship," one of the premier global coffee competitions, where winners of national barista championships from around the world qualify to participate.
On the other hand, the "National Latte Art Championship" will showcase the artistic and creative abilities of baristas in crafting latte art. The competition follows specific rules, regulations, and judging criteria used in international coffee events, with a judging panel evaluating entries based on visual and creative attributes.
Khalid Al-Mulla, Chairman of the Specialty Coffee Association in the UAE, stated, "The purpose of organizing these two championships within the third edition of the Coffee World Exhibition 2024 is to honor creators, increase competitiveness, and promote cultural exchange among baristas, alongside enhancing Dubai's position as a regional hub for innovation and excellence in the coffee industry."
Shawq Bin Redha, Director of the Coffee World Exhibition, confirmed, "The exhibition aims to explore new trends and ideas that will shape the future of the coffee industry in the region and globally, in light of the diverse cultures it encompasses, which will contribute to the development of this vital sector. She noted that the country is home to several leading global coffee chains, while Dubai holds a pioneering position in the region regarding innovation in the coffee industry."
Additionally, the Coffee World Exhibition 2024 will feature the "Coffee Design Awards" and "Best New Product" competitions to celebrate innovation and enhance collaboration and partnerships between exhibitors and specialized visitors, while exploring the future of the coffee sector.
The exhibition also includes a variety of events, such as the "Roasters Village" pavilion, the "Cupping Room," and "Pro Bar," as well as a series of panel discussions and specialized workshops on the best practices for resource utilization and sustainable practices that showcase the global coffee community's commitment to responsible production.
