The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division - announced that "as part of the continuous efforts by the Central Anti-Drug Office within the Judicial Police Unit to pursue individuals involved in drug trafficking and distribution and apprehend them, information was received about the activities of a dealer in the Jal el-Dib area." The statement added: "As a result of investigations and inquiries, his identity was established, and he is named Y. Z. (born in 1982, Syrian)." It continued: "On February 13, 2024, after careful surveillance, a force from the Special Unit of the Judicial Police and a patrol from the Central Anti-Drug Office conducted a raid at his residence, where he was arrested, and a quantity of 376 grams of marijuana and 40 grams of cocaine, divided into plastic wrappers, papers, and nylon bags, prepared for distribution, were seized. Additionally, a sum of money was confiscated, resulting from drug sales." The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the relevant judiciary.
