Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced in a statement that "the fighters of Al-Qassam, after returning from the front lines west of Jabalia camp, reported the preparation of an ambush for an enhanced Israeli infantry unit last Tuesday. They successfully detonated two anti-personnel devices ('Raadi-Television') against them and then attacked them from point-blank range, resulting in dozens of soldiers being killed or wounded."
It was noted that "an Israeli ground force advanced two days later towards a building where several fighters were entrenched near Abu Rashid's pool. After blowing down the entrance of the building and during their entry, they were targeted by the mujahideen with hand grenades and gunfire, pursuing them from one location to another, confirming the killing of 15 soldiers among them."
The Al-Qassam Brigades announced that "their fighters were able to target an Israeli ground unit consisting of 20 soldiers who had taken refuge inside a building with a 'TBG' anti-fortification shell and another anti-personnel shell, causing them to suffer casualties in Sheikh Radwan area in Gaza City."
