Sisi and Macron Warn of the Dangers of Regional Instability

The phone call between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron addressed regional developments amid recent escalations, warning of the dangers of the region sliding into widespread instability, necessitating a commitment to the highest degrees of wisdom and restraint. The two presidents agreed on the necessity of halting escalations on various fronts, emphasizing that "reaching a fair and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue, through a two-state solution, represents the way to restore and cement security, peace, and stability for all peoples of the region." This came during Sisi's phone conversation with the French president. The official spokesman for the presidency, Advisor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, clarified that "the call discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields, in line with the historical and strategic nature that characterizes the cooperation between the two states."
