President Michel Sleiman emphasized that "during the celebratory mass organized by the Catholic Media Center on World Media Day at Our Lady Church in Amchit, the children expressed a poignant message: media is a responsibility." In his statement, Sleiman said, "This is true, and this responsibility grows and increases as the position of the individual dealing with the media rises. Anyone who has a prominent media platform and whose influence on people is significant must weigh their words carefully."
He added, "The President of the State or Government has more influence than a Minister, a Head of a Parliamentary Bloc has more influence than a Deputy, a Head of a Sect has more influence than an ordinary clergyman, a Military Institution Leader has more influence than a regular officer, a famous writer has more influence than a common writer, a Party Leader has more influence than an activist in the party, and a veteran journalist has more influence than a novice journalist. These individuals carry greater responsibilities towards education, reform, security, peace, coexistence, and adherence to laws."
