The Lebanese economic bodies, led by former minister Mohammad Shuqair, organized a meeting today at the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber of Commerce regarding investment opportunities in Senegal. The meeting was attended by the Senegalese ambassador, Kimoko Diakite, consul Zaher Mukhadar, and a gathering of union leaders and businessmen interested in economic cooperation with Senegal.
Minister Shuqair opened the meeting by welcoming everyone to this important gathering aimed at enhancing relations between the two friendly countries. He stated, "As the private sector, we are very much interested in increasing bilateral economic cooperation and exploring investment opportunities in Senegal, especially with a large Lebanese community in this country that can play a vital role in activating partnerships between Lebanese businessmen and their Senegalese counterparts, as well as in boosting trade exchange between the two countries."
Senegalese Ambassador Diakite expressed his gratitude to Minister Shuqair for organizing this important meeting, highlighting that "his country possesses many viable investment opportunities" and welcoming partnership with the Lebanese private sector, which is known for its dynamism and extensive business experience.
He then provided a detailed presentation on investment opportunities in his country across various sectors, as well as the incentives and facilities offered to foreign investors, in addition to the investment climate and promising sectors.
Following that, a dialogue took place between the attendees and the Senegalese ambassador, during which questions raised by participants regarding investment in Senegal were addressed.
