Egypt and Lebanon Seek to Facilitate Export Access between the Two Countries

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly discussed with Lebanese Minister of Agriculture Abbas Al-Haj Hassan ways to support joint cooperation between Egypt and Lebanon in the agricultural sector and facilitate the entry of exports between the two countries. The Egyptian Prime Minister stated that Cairo and Beirut share very strong historical relations on all fronts, emphasizing Egypt's eagerness to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various areas of mutual interest. Madbouly stressed that the Egyptian government is keen to facilitate the entry of Lebanese exports into the Egyptian market, paralleling the Lebanese government's efforts to ease the flow of Egyptian exports to Lebanon across various goods, as well as to support trade exchange rates between the two countries to match the distinguished political relations between both sides. He also affirmed Cairo's commitment to supporting brotherly Lebanon, considering the current global economic conditions and their implications for all countries, especially Egypt and Lebanon. During the meeting, the Lebanese Minister of Agriculture emphasized the depth of the historical relations binding Egypt and Lebanon, and the importance of continuing close coordination between the two countries on priority issues within international frameworks that serve the interests of both states. The Lebanese Minister of Agriculture highlighted Lebanon's deep appreciation for the constant support of the Egyptian political leadership, which is greatly valued on the Lebanese side. Al-Haj pointed out the numerous opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise between Cairo and Beirut in the agricultural field, particularly in fish farming. At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the need for coordination between the Egyptian and Lebanese Ministries of Agriculture to advance the fields of joint cooperation in agriculture, expressing his eagerness to receive any proposals that would support this collaboration.
