Starting Tomorrow: Modification of Fees Related to Foreign Entry to Lebanon

The Council of Ministers has decided to modify the fees related to the entry of foreigners into Lebanon and their residence, which was approved in its session on February 28, 2024, and will take effect starting tomorrow morning, March 26. The Ministry of Interior and Municipalities had proposed adjustments to some fees in the General Directorate of General Security (residency application fees), including, for example: residency for holders of Type 1 work permits and their family members, increasing from 1.8 million Lebanese pounds to 82 million, student residency permit from 250,000 pounds to 10 million pounds, residency for Lebanese holding foreign nationality from 250,000 pounds to 10 million pounds, and a fine for the illegal transportation of travelers from 3 million Lebanese pounds to 138 million pounds.
