The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, indicated that "there are questions that require answers regarding Ukraine and Gaza," calling for the avoidance of double standards concerning the situation in Gaza and the decision of the International Court of Justice. In his speech during the third plenary session of the "Shangri-La Dialogue" on "Building Cooperative Security in the Asia-Pacific Region," Borrell noted that "the security of Europe is linked to the security and stability of Asia." He stated that "it is clear that international humanitarian law is no longer sufficiently respected, and there are questions we need to answer regarding Ukraine, Gaza, and the issue of respecting international laws." In response to questions from some participants in the forum, Borrell confirmed that "the EU has no evidence to prove the supply of weapons from China to Russia." In another context, Borrell met with Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense, Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, where they discussed issues of mutual interest, especially the latest developments in the region, including the Israeli war on Gaza, as well as Qatar's role in mediation efforts and its commitment to ceasefire and ending the war in Gaza.
