Southern Investigation Unit Arrests Thief

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued a statement today, Tuesday, stating: "On 14/10/2023, an unknown individual broke into a house located on the outskirts of the town of Hbariyeh - Hasbaya using force, and stole a large amount of money. As a result of immediate follow-up, orders were given to the patrols of the Southern Investigation Unit within the regional gendarmerie to increase intelligence efforts to identify the thief, who exploited the homeowner's absence due to Israeli shelling in the vicinity of Shebaa and neighboring border towns.

Immediately, the investigation patrols began their inquiries and, as a result of the follow-up, one of the shepherds was suspected, identified as: A. K. (born in 2006, Syrian). A tight ambush was set for him, and he was arrested in one of the forests. During the investigation, he admitted that he took advantage of the homeowner's hasty displacement and entered the house by breaking in, stealing /13,250/ US dollars and two mobile phones from inside.

The detainee was transferred to Rashaya El-Fokhar police station along with the confiscated items for the necessary legal procedures to be taken against him based on the instructions of the judiciary."
