A European diplomat revealed that new sanctions will be imposed next weekend on nine officials from Hamas. Earlier, Hamas viewed the talk of Qatar imposing sanctions on its leaders as "laughable," given the movement's "good relations with Doha." Gazzi Hamad, a member of Hamas's political bureau and negotiation team, clarified that "Hamas is not in Qatar today but has been there for years, enjoying a good relationship with the Qatari leadership without any pressure or embarrassment."
