Saudi Arabia is the Only Country to Bid for World Cup 2034

The International Federation (FIFA) revealed today, Tuesday, that "Saudi Arabia is the only football federation that submitted a bid to host the World Cup 2034 by the specified deadline." FIFA had invited countries from Asia and the Oceania region to submit their bids to host the tournament by October 31. Saudi Arabia announced its intention to submit a bid just minutes after the announcement on October 4. Australia announced today that it will not bid to host the tournament, leaving Saudi Arabia as the sole candidate. FIFA has awarded the rights to host the World Cup 2030 to Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, while Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay will host matches as part of the centenary celebration of the tournament.
