The Israeli army announced the formation of a new regional brigade named the "Mountain Brigade," which will operate under the command of the 210th Division. Its area of operations will be Mount Sheikh and Mount Dov (Lebanese Shebaa Farms). According to the "Times of Israel," the "Haharim" or "Mountain" Brigade will take charge of the Mount Sheikh and Mount Dov areas under the "Bashan" 210 Division, replacing the current regional Brigade 810 "Hermon."
The creation of a new regional brigade on the Syrian-Lebanese border, the "Haharim" (Mountain) Brigade, is part of adjusting operational responses on the northern border based on an assessment of the situation. The new brigade is tasked with defending areas within Mount Sheikh and Mount Dov (Har Dov). The army stated that the brigade was formed "as part of the operational response to the situation on the northern border and according to the situational assessment."
The Hebrew newspaper cited the occupation army stating that the new brigade will specialize in combat in difficult terrains and mountainous areas. The regional "Mountain" Brigade will commence its activities in the coming weeks, with Colonel Liron Ablman appointed as its first commander.
