Billionaire Elon Musk commented on the technological capabilities of Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates on the social media platform "X." In his statement, he noted that the United States needs to "catch up" with the advancements seen at the airport.
His comment came in response to a video showcasing the ease of check-in at the airport using facial recognition technology, which was shared by a TikTok user to highlight the convenience and efficiency of this biometric system.
Terminal A, which opened to the world in November, is designed to redefine the airport experience. Travelers who check in online can use self-service kiosks equipped with facial recognition technology to complete necessary visa checks and verify their information. This technology also allows some passengers to move from the curb outside the terminal to their gate in less than 12 minutes.
