Security Chase in Beirut: Taxi Driver Attempts to Escape

A security chase occurred on one of the roads leading to downtown Beirut in recent hours, involving elements of the Internal Security Forces. According to reports, a taxi driver was surprised by a security checkpoint at the Falafel Sihyon descent towards downtown Beirut, which forced him to flee onto a side road, but he was unable to do so. Sources indicate that the security forces were able to apprehend the driver, who attempted to throw a wallet from the car that turned out to contain narcotics and hallucinogenic pills. Immediately, the driver was arrested and taken in for questioning, and his vehicle was confiscated along with the drugs in his possession.
